Foresters Claim Seven Titles at MWC Individual Tournament

Box Score The 2025 Midwest Conference Individual Tournament for women's tennis took place in Madison, Wisconsin, over the weekend and Lake Forest College players captured championships at seven of nine positions in the lineup on Sunday.

At the top of the lineup, junior Sofia Strupovets and sophomore Lilli Dockal successfully defended their singles and doubles titles from last year. Strupovets took the opening set 7-5 and the second 6-2 to capture the title at #1 singles while Dockal rolled 6-3, 6-0 at #2. They also prevailed 8-2 in the semifinals and 8-6 in the final at #1 doubles. The win in the final was the 100th in singles and doubles combined for Strupovets in her career.

Freshman Anya Mookencherry and sophomore Avelynn Wen also combined for three titles. Mookencherry won both sets 6-2 in the final at #3 singles and Wen played the same number of games in a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at #4. They added an 8-1 victory in the #2 doubles final.

Lake Forest's other championship came from junior Kate Feist at #5 singles, where she came out on top 6-2, 6-0 in Sunday's final.

The seven titles are the Foresters' highest total since they prevailed at eight of nine spots in the lineup in 2018.

The tournament was Lake Forest's final event of the fall semester. The team's 2025-26 season will resume in February.
