The Lake Forest College handball team competed in the 2025 Maverick Open at Minnesota State University-Mankato over the weekend and had players reach the final in six of the event's 10 divisions.
Junior
Arielle Augustyn contributed to two of those finals appearances and came out on top in both matches. She won the Women's Singles B Division with a 21-9, 21-18 triumph in Sunday's final and teamed up with freshman
Satoe Tohi for a hard-fought 15-21, 21-9, 11-9 victory in the Women's Doubles A/B final.
Sophomore
Emma Kinane and junior
Audrey Peters prevailed 21-12, 21-13 on Sunday to capture the title in the Women's Open Doubles Division and freshman
Jodie Keeling was the Women's Open Singles runner-up after falling in a tiebreaker.
On the men's side, senior
Zach Dybal won 21-7, 15-21, 11-2 in the A Singles Division final on Sunday while freshmanÂ
Luca Zenati-Parsons was edged out 5-21, 21-20, 11-9 in the C bracket.
Senior
Dylan Schmitt was an Open Singles semifinalists in the men's bracket and Kinane in the women's.
Lake Forest will host Invitational Doubles competition next Saturday and an Invitational Singles event a week later.
