The Lake Forest College men's golf team made the short trip across the state line to Racine, Wisconsin, for Carthage College's Firebird Spring Invitational on Monday.
The Foresters placed fourth at the 11-team event, which was played at Meadowbrook Country Club.
Junior
Chris Petri led Lake Forest and tied for sixth out of 60 players with a 7-over 78, which included a birdie on 8. He finished just three stroke off the lead.

Luke Duffer and sophomore
Ben Shamberg were each just one shot behind Petri and both players birdied a pair of holes.
Carthage won the event with a score of 310, five stroke ahead of runner-up Bryant and Stratton College. The Foresters' round of 321 was just one shot behind third-place Carrroll University one one ahead of fifth-place Elmhurst University.
The tournament was Lake Forest's last prior to the 2024 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, which begin on Sunday. The three-day event will be played at Metamora Fields Country Club in Metamora, Illinois.
