The Lake Forest College men's golf team played its second tournament in as many days on Saturday, placing third out of 13 teams at Wisconsin Lutheran College's Morningstar Masters.

Sophomore Ben Shamberg turned in the team's top score on the 6.875-yard, par-72 course at Morningstar Golfer's Club in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Starting on the 10th hole, he had a birdie on 15, a bogey on 17, and pars throughout the rest of the round for a 72, which tied him for fifth place in the 78-player field.

Freshman Tyler Schick finished just one shot behind Shamberg with a 73 that included a birdie on the third hole, back-to-back bogeys later on the front nine, and 15 pars. Senior Tyler Nielsen was next on the team with a 76 that included consecutive birdies on 18 and 1. Junior Chris Petri, Lake Forest's top player at the Forester Spring Invite on Friday, finished with a 77 that also featured a pair of birdies.

The Foresters' team score of 299 was a 17-stroke improvement from the previous day's tournament and ranks tied-for-12th in school history. Aurora University won the event with a 281 while Carthage College was the runner-up at 298.

Lake Forest will compete in Millikin University's Take Back the Night Challenge in Decatur, Illinois, next Friday and Saturday.
