Lake Forest's first competition of the spring semester was Aurora University's AU Madness on Saturday.

Players from Aurora, Lake Forest, and North Central College played a pair of rounds at Orchard Valley Golf Course. The Foresters fielded two teams which posted scores of 621 and 657 on the 6745-yard, par-72 course.

Junior Luke Duffer was the team's top player with a 36-hole score of 154, which was good for 10th place out of 30 competitors. He carded two birdies in his first round of 78 and five while taking just 76 shots to complete the final 18 holes.

Freshman Tyler Schick was next on the team just a shot behind Duffer and senior Tyler Nielsen posted back-to-back rounds of 78 to lead the second Forester team. Fellow senior Ryan Higgins was also in the 70s for both rounds and finished with a 157.

Aurora won the event with a score of 583.

Lake Forest will compete in the two-day IWU Invitational next Friday and Saturday. The event is hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University at Ironwood (Round 1) and Weibring (Round 2) Golf Courses.
