The United Soccer Coaches released the 2024 All-Region Teams and Lake Forest College's
Gio Diaz was among the honorees.
Diaz was named Fourth Team All-Region IX at forward after ranking second among Foresters with 18 points on six goals and a team-high six assists. The junior transfer had at least one point in 9 of 21 games this fall, including five in a row in late October and early November. He assisted on a pair of goals in Lake Forest's victory at defending Midwest Conference champion Illinois College on October 26 and set up two more scores a week later in a conference title-clinching triumph over Cornell College.
The Foresters finished the season with an overall record of 10-8-3. They were 7-0-1 in league play during the regular season and, for the third year in a row, won the MWC Tournament to earn a spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Diaz is the first Lake Forest player since 2019 and the 18th in program history to earn all-region accolades.
