The Forester women's tennis team traveled to Wheaton College on Saturday and edged out Edgewood College 5-4 before falling 6-3 to the hosts.

Lake Forest sophomore Margaret Bugnacki prevailed 6-1, 6-1 in both of her matches at #3 singles and joined senior Katie Wegrecki in earning a split at #2 doubles, falling 8-5 to Edgewood and posting an 8-6 victory against Wheaton.

Sophomore Maria Jose Campos and freshman Sara Lopez won a tie-breaker to defeat the top doubles team from Edgewood but the Foresters still trailed 2-1 going into singles play. After the Eagles posted another victory at the top of the singles lineup, Wegrecki won 6-0, 6-1 at #4 and Bugnacki's triumph at #3 ties the score at three. Forester freshman Isa Hinojosa rolled 6-1, 6-2 at #6 and Lopez claimed the clinching point with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) win at #2.

Junior Natalia Leite took the first set 6-2 and the second 6-0 at #5 singles accounted for the Foresters' third point against Wheaton with Bugnacki contributing to the first two.

Lake Forest will host an exhibition match against Bryant and Stratton College on Wednesday before traveling to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater next Sunday.
