Playing in its first dual match in nearly three weeks, the Forester women's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory at Ripon College on Saturday.
Lake Forest quickly earned the doubles point with 6-1 victories at the top two spots in the lineup.
Sofia Strupovets and
Lilli Dockal played at #1 and
Bebe Phramthong and
Avelynn Wen at #2. Forester seniors
Kate Feist and
Anika Kinnear then added a 6-4 triumph at #3.
Strupovets did not drop a game at the top spot in the singles lineup, nor did Wen at #3. Phramthong was nearly as dominant in a 6-3, 6-0 victory at #2 and Kinnear won with the same sets scores in the opposite order at #5. Feist took the first set 6-2 and led the second 2-0 when the Red Hawks' #5 player was forced to retire.
Courtney Park was in the lineup for the first time as a Forester and came out on top 6-2 in both sets at #6.
The victory raised Lake Forest's overall record to 3-2 and Midwest Conference mark to 3-1 while Ripon fell to 2-9 overall and 0-6 in the league.
The Foresters will play another conference match at Luther College tomorrow morning at 10:00.
