Box Score The Lake Forest College women's tennis team hosted and defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 9-0 on Wednesday in the Foresters' first official home match of the season.
The home team dropped just three games in doubles. Sophomore Maria Jose Campos and freshman Sara Lopez rolled 8-1 atop the lineup, sophomore Margaret Bugnacki and junior Natalia Leite blanked their opponents 8-0 at #2, and the freshman tandem of Emily Bross and Isa Hinojosa prevailed 8-2 at #3.
Campos was the first to finish in singles, defeating the Raiders' top player 6-0 in both sets. Bugnacki and Hinojosa also posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at #3 and #6, respectively, and Leite was nearly perfect in a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at #4. Lopez came out on top 6-4, 6-1 at #2 and the final point was earned by Bross at #5, where she edged out her opponent 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, (10-6).
Lake Forest is now 2-2 on the season while MSOE fell to 2-3.
The Foresters will begin Midwest Conference play at home on Saturday, hosting Monmouth College at 9:00 a.m. and Illinois College at 3:00 in the afternoon.
