Foresters Blank Lawrence, Finish 8-1 in MWC

The Foresters posted their fourth consecutive 9-0 victory on Sunday, sweeping Lawrence University at home.

Juniors Emma Wang and Grace Gould earned the first point of the contest with an 8-3 win at #3 doubles. Sophomore Tebatso Duba and junior Tyranny Miller were the next to finish, prevailing 8-1 at #2, and the doubles sweep was complete once Forester junior Julie Lord and senior Leeza Bodnar closed out the Vikings' top tandem 8-7 (7-3).

Wang did not drop a game at #4 singles and the match was clinched when Lord won 6-2, 6-0 at #1. Bodnar took both sets 6-2 at #3 while Duba and Miller came out on top 6-3 in both sets at #2 and #5, respectively. Freshman Natalia Leite closed out the contest with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at #6.

Lake Forest is now 11-1 overall this season and finished the Midwest Conference portion of the schedule with a mark of 8-1. Lawrence fell to 8-5 overall and 6-2 in the league.

The Foresters will play their final dual match of the fall semester at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater next Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
