Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Senior Lucia Stumbras won both of her singles matches but the Forester women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday, falling 8-1 to Grinnell College and 5-4 to Cornell College.

Stumbras defeated her counterpart from Grinnell College 6-3, 6-4 at #3 singles for the Foresters' only point in the contest.

Due to the weather, the match was played at the Racine Indoor Tennis Club in Racine, Wisconsin.

Lake Forest took the early lead in the match with an 8-3 victory by sophomore Allison Watts and freshman Silvia Kulbokas at #2 doubles. The Rams then finished off victories at #1 and #3 and led 2-1 entering singles play.

Cornell extended its lead with wins at the top and bottom of the singles lineup and clinched the team victory with a triumph at #5. Kulbokas took both sets 6-1 at #4 and freshman Leeza Bodnar battled for a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory at #2. Stumbras came out on top of a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 decision at #3 to close out a long day of tennis.

The losses dropped the Foresters' overall record to 2-2 and Midwest Conference mark to 0-2. Grinnell improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the league and Cornell is now 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the MWC.

Lake Forest will continue conference play at home against Beloit College Monday afternoon at 4:00.
