The Lake Forest College women's tennis team hosted and defeated St. Norbert College 5-4 on Saturday. Sophomore Sarah Paulson won at the top spot in both the doubles and singles lineups in her Forester debut.

Paulson and sophomore Christi Valicenti posted an 8-4 victory at #1 doubles and an 8-3 win at #2 by sophomore Grace Dowling and junior Gracie Mullins gave the home team a 2-1 going into singles play.

Paulson quickly defeated St. Norbert's top player 6-0, 6-2 to extend the lead and a 7-5, 6-3 triumph by senior Elina Shapiro at #6 gave the Foresters their fourth team point. Freshman Marissa Guggenheim posted a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) victory at #5 to clinch the victory. The Green Knights won the last three matches to account for the final score.

Lake Forest is now 2-0 on the season while St. Norbert fell to 2-1.

The Foresters will play at Beloit College Wednesday afternoon at 4:00.
