The Lake Forest College women's tennis team defeated host St. Norbert College 6-3 Friday evening. Freshman Christi Valicenti was one of three Foresters to win twice in the match.

Valicenti and senior Melika Celebic started the contest with an 8-3 victory at #1 doubles. Sophomore Gracie Mullins and freshman Grace Dowling prevailed 8-4 at #3 doubles to give the visitors the early 2-0 lead.

St. Norbert pulled out a victory at #2 doubles and started singles play with triumphs at #6 and #3.

Dowling tied the match at three with a 6-2, 6-3 win at #4 singles and the Foresters took the lead on a 6-2, 6-2 victory for Valicenti. Celebic clinched the match for Lake Forest when she finished off the Green Knights' top player 7-5, 6-4 and junior Aimee Fadden came from behind to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at #5 to close out the contest.

The Foresters are now 2-0 on the year. It was St. Norbert's season opener.

Lake Forest will play at Lawrence University at 9:00 tomorrow morning and at Ripon College at 2:00 in the afternoon.
