Lake Forest College softball player Jordan Ratliff (Petersburg,
Mich./Summerfield) was named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week
on Tuesday (March 30). It was the league's first weekly award
of the season and included all games played to date.
Ratliff, a freshman, is 4-2 with a 1.80 earned run average so far
in her collegiate career. She has limited opponents to a .254
batting average and struck out 29 hitters while walking just
12.
Ratliff debuted with a complete game 8-2 victory over Methodist
University on March 9. She allowed just three base hits and one
earned run in the contest. She returned from the team's
Spring Break trip to Florida with a 3-0 record after retiring 16
consecutive batters during a 4-3 eight-inning triumph over #9
Gustavus Adolphus College on March 14. Ratliff recorded her first
career shutout at Elmhurst College on March 19. A pair of
fifth-inning singles were the only base hits she allowed in the
five-inning contest.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's
sports information director.
