The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 2026 NFCA Division III All-Region Teams on Friday and a pair of Foresters made the list.

With Friday's Second Team All-Region IX selection, junior shortstop Kaia Mismash has been listed among the best in this part of the country in each of her three years at the College. Mismash set a program record and ranks eighth in the nation with a .528 batting average and her 37-game hitting streak that ended late in the year is the third-longest run in NCAA Division III history. She is also fourth in the country in stolen bases per game with 44 in 32 contests (1.38).

After just three seasons, Mismash is already the Midwest Conference's all-time leader with 198 career hits and 131 stolen bases. She was selected as the 2026 MWC Position Player of the Year and has now earned NFC First or Second Team All-Region honors three times.

Sophomore second baseman Lia Taglia joined Mismash as a Second Team All-Region IX honoree on Friday. She batted .397 this spring, posted a .453 on-base percentage, and stole 29 bases. Taglia hit .522 during the final 12 games of the season and posted a .958 fielding percentage on the year.

Taglia ranks tied-for-third in program history with 50 stolen bases in her career. Friday's all-region selection was her first.

Lake Forest finished the 2026 season with an overall record of 24-14. The Foresters tied for second in the MWC standings with a 12-4 mark in league play and reached the championship round of the MWC Tournament for the third year in a row.

The NFCA has bestowed all-region honors on at least one Lake Forest player each of the last six years and in 10 of the last 12 full seasons.
