Kaia Mismash Earns All-American Accolades from NFCA

5/27/2026 1:30:00 PM

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its NCAA Division III All-American Teams on Wednesday and Lake Forest College's Kaia Mismash was among the honorees.

Mismash was a Third Team at-large selection after finishing fourth in the nation with 1.38 stolen bases per game (44 in 32 contests), eighth with a .528 batting average, and 24th with a .560 on-base percentage. Among the junior shortstop's team-high 57 base hits were five doubles, four triples, and an inside-the-park home run and she also led the squad with 73 total bases and 30 runs scored.

After just three seasons, Mismash is already the Midwest Conference's career leader with 198 hits and 131 stolen bases. Her .488 career batting average is currently the highest in program history and she ranks second in team annals with 134 runs scored and a .516 on-base percentage.

Wednesday's honor is one of many Mismash has received this spring. She was named MWC Position Player of the Week and Forester Athlete of the Week twice each during the season and was voted First Team All-MWC and MWC Position Player of the Year by league coaches at its conclusion. The NFCA also made her a Second Team All-Region IX selection earlier this month.

Mismash is just the third player in program history to earn All-American honors and first since 2003.

Lake Forest posted 24-14 overall record this year, tied for second place in the MWC at 12-4 in league play, and reached the championship round of the MWC Tournament for the third time in as many seasons with Mismash on the team.
