Sacred Heart, however, scored the game's next four goals. The Pioneers tied the score at the 8:06 mark and converted a power play opportunity at 14:26. The home team scored again at 4:18 in the second and finished off the 4-0 run just 31 seconds later.

Herring became the first player in the nation with 20 goals when she lit the lamp at the 3:15 mark of the third period. Dare then put Lake Forest back on top just 51 seconds later and added her ninth score of the year at 9:05. Sophomore Mira Trebilcock (South Porcupine, Ontario/Trinity College School) assisted on the second of Dare's back-to-back goals. The Pioneers pulled back to within a goal with 5:05 remaining but an emtpy-net goal by Perez with 31 seconds to play sealed the Forester victory It was her second score of the game and third this season.
