Soccer player Gianna Logue and football player Ethan Springer were named the 2026-27 academic year's first Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Logue helped anchor the defense as her team began the season with a pair of victories. Lake Forest hosted and defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-1 on Mohr Field on Wednesday before posting a 2-0 triumph at Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday. The Raiders and Falcons recorded just 13 total shot attempts and only four on target in the two games combined.

Logue is one of just two players on the team to play all 90 minutes in both games. The senior central defender has now been on the field for the entirety of 15 of 24 contests since the beginning of the 2025 season. 

Springer quarterbacked the Foresters to touchdowns on all eight of his drives during Saturday's 77-14 victory over Greenville University. The junior completed 20 of 26 passes for 360 yards and a career-high-tying four scores while also rushing for 52 yards and another touchdown in the contest. Springer's 244.0 efficiency rating on the day ranks seventh in team history while his passing yardage total is tied-for-seventh.

Springer continues to be the program's career leader in completion percentage at 72.0 percent and his 173.51 pass efficiency rating as a Forester ranks second in team annals.

Tuesday's Forester Athlete of the Week award was the first for Logue and third for Springer, who also earned the honor twice in 2025.
