Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Arnav Pokhrel

Foresters Held Scoreless in 3-0 Loss to Puget Sound

For the first time since 2019, Lake Forest men's soccer headed to the West Coast for a weekend of games.

Action started off quickly for Puget Sound, with the Loggers earning a free kick after Mason Khamsouthavong was shown a yellow card in the first 13 seconds of play. Shortly after, goalkeeper Conor Leuschke made his first save of the night. After nine appearances and four starts in net last season for the Syracuse native, today marked his first minutes of the 2026 campaign.

Puget Sound got its goal at the 15-minute mark, taking a 1-0 lead on a shot to the bottom right of the net. The Loggers continued to keep pressure high, with six corner kicks in the first half. Eventually, the momentum turned into a second goal for the home side, and Puget Sound took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Second-half goalkeeper for Lake Forest, Marceli Okonski, made a save in the 59th minute, but the home team continued to push on offense. The Loggers added another goal from the penalty spot in the 77th minute, and the game finished 3-0 in favor of Puget Sound.

Lake Forest continues action in Washington with a game against Pacific Lutheran on Sunday before returning home on Wednesday to host Benedictine at Mohr Field for the 2026 home opener.
