The Forester women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to visiting Grinnell College on Sunday.
The match was between the top two teams in the 2026 MWC Preseason Coaches Poll and Lake Forest and Grinnell have faced each other in each of the last 10 MWC Tournament finals.
The Pioneers secured the doubles point with victories at #2 and #3 but Foresters
Sofia Strupovets and
Lilli Dockal doubled up the visitors' top tandem 6-3.
Strupovets also played in the closest singles match of the day. After dropping the first set 6-2, she edged out her counterpart at the top spot in the lineup 7-6 (7-4) in the second but fell 10-6 in the third set super tiebreaker.
The loss left Lake Forest as 1-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play this season while Grinnell improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the league.
The Foresters will travel to Lawrence University next Sunday for another MWC match at 2:00 p.m.
