The Lake Forest College women's volleyball team began play at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls' Falcon Invite with a four-set loss to the home team Friday night.
The Falcons took the opening set 25-12 and the second 25-17. The Foresters outscored them 25-22 in set three but dropped the fourth 25-15.
For the third time in as many matches this season, freshman
Elise Kelley led Lake Forest in kills. She pounded out 10 without an error in 26 attempts for a .368 hitting percentage while adding a season-high 14 digs for her first career double-double. In addition, Kelley served up three aces Friday night and is tied for the team lead with five on the year.
Rio Dirksen and
L'Rae White were next on the team with six kills apiece while setter
Lilly Robinson finished with 27 assists and
Rylie Almoradie led the squad with 18 digs.
The loss dropped the Foresters' record on the young season to 0-3 while River Falls improved to 4-1.
Lake Forest will remain in River Falls and take on Concordia University Wisconsin at 11:00 a.m. and Bethel University at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
