Tyler Wengronowitz and Riley Stiles Named Forester Athletes of the Week

4/7/2026 8:13:00 PM

Golfer Tyler Wengronowitz and softball player Riley Stiles were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Wengronowitz tied for fifth place out of 255 players at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The junior carded a 1-under 71 at Ironwood Golf Club in round one and was just one shot over par with a 72 at Weibring Golf Club on Saturday. He finished the tournament with five birdies to offset the same number of bogeys and an even par score of 143 that matched the ninth-best two-round total in program history.

Lake Forest tied for seventh place out of 41 teams in the tournament and finished ahead of four programs ranked among the top 35 in the country.

Wengronowitz, who is in his second year at the College, already owns six of the 14 best 36-hole scores in team history. His current scoring average of 74.13 would be the program's second-lowest single-season mark behind his 72.92 from a year ago.

Stiles, a senior pitcher, did not allow an earned run in two starts over the weekend. She shut out Monmouth College for the first four innings of Friday's 10-2 victory, a game that last just five innings. Stiles struck out a career-high eight batters without issuing a walk and allowed just one hit, a bunt single, in the contest.

Saturday's doubleheader opener at Cornell College was an 11-3 five-inning victory for Lake Forest. All three runs off Stiles in the contest were unearned and she struck out three batters without walking any.

Stiles is now 5-2 this season and 17-7 in her year-and-a-half at the College. Her .708 winning percentage is the fifth-highest mark in program history while her 2.77 career earned run average ranks just outside the top 10.

Tuesday's Forester Athlete of the Week award was the first for Stiles and fifth for Wengronowitz, who also earned the honor on September 23 and three times in 2024-25.
