The 2026 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Men's Golf Championship Tournament is being held at Far Oaks Country Club in Caseyville, Illinois, this week and the Foresters are in second place after day one of three.
Lake Forest posted a score of 292 (+4) on Sunday and trail first-place Grinnell College by just two strokes. Mississippis University for Women is third at 298 and Lyon College and Illinois College are tied-for-fourth at 300.
After carding a 2-under 70, Forester junior
Tyler Schick is one of four players tied for first place in the individual standings. He started the day with a pair of birdies followed by two bogeys and added three more birdies to more than offset one additional bogey the rest of the way. At 2-under, Schick was better than any of the other 63 players in the tournament on the par-3s while his five birdies were tied-for-first in the field.
Junior
Tyler Wengronowitz is next on the team and tied-for-seventh overall at even par. He birdied four holes on the day, including three of the five par-5s.
Forester sophomore
Nate Choi had a 74 (+2) on Sunday and is tied for 13th place while senior
Ben Shamberg and freshman
Jack Lee are tied-for-21st after posting matching rounds of 76 (+4).
Monday's second round is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and the event's final 18 holes will begin with a shotgun start an hour earlier on Tuesday.
