The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team defeated visiting Milwaukee School of Engineering 16-10 on Wednesday in the first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game of the season for both teams.

Shannon Gibbons, whose entered the day with career highs of three goals and eight draw controls, scored six times and tied the program record with 11 draw controls in the contest. She now has eight scores on the season.

A pair of Raider goals brought the visitors to within two early in the second but Lake Forest freshman
Audrey Kroeger answered with back-to-back scores and Gibbons struck gain to give the Foresters a 9-4 halftime lead.
MSOE opened the third quarter scoring but Gibbons restored the five-goal cushion. She also responded to consecutive goals from the Raiders with two of her own to make it a 12-7 game going into the fourth.
There was more back-and-forth in the final period, which included two more goals from Khan and one each from Kroeger and Gibbons. Khan matched her career high with four goals in the game and Kroeger's hat trick was her first as a Forester.
Maher led the team with five ground balls and a career-high-tying four caused turnovers.

Cecilia Adams helped maintain Lake Forest's lead with 10 saves in the second half and a school record 17 in the game.
The victory evened the Foresters' overall record at 3-3 while MSOE fell to 1-8.
Lake Forest will continue league play at Marian University Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
