The Forester men's tennis team finished off its four-match Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, with a 6-1 victory over Catholic University of America on Friday.
Lake Forest earned the doubles point with a 6-1 win by freshman
Zeke Bisharat and junior
Daniel Fotiev at #3 and a 6-4 triumph by sophomore
Felipe Moraes and junior
Rodrigo Cunha at #1.
The top three singles matches were on the courts next and the Foresters took all three. Senior
George Ciuca was the first to finish, defeating the Cardinals' #3 player 6-0, 6-3. Moraes followed with a 6-4, 6-0 win at the top spot in the lineup and junior
Bernardo Aguiar came out on top 3-6, 6-3, (10-6) at #2 to clinch the match for Lake Forest.
Cunha rolled 6-1, 6-2 at #3 and junior
Joao Espindola raised his singles record to 4-0 on the trip with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at #5. Catholic salvaged a point with a third set super tiebreaker win at #6 to account for the final score.
The Foresters climbed above the .500 mark for the season at 6-5 while Catholic fell to 6-4.
Lake Forest will travel to Hope College on Friday for a 4:00 p.m. (ET) non-conference match.
