The Lake Forest women's basketball team had a sluggish start to Saturday's game against Illinois College and could not claw back, falling to the Lady Blues, 87-48.

Anika Kinnear led the way offensively for Lake Forest (2-20, 0-13 MWC). The junior guard scored 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting and added four rebounds. Kinnear also made all four of her free-throw attempts. It was the fourth time in Kinnear's last six games reaching double figures scoring.

Rylie Crecelius added six points and a game-high seven rebounds.

Ella Franck contributed eight points off the bench. The sophomore guard had made four three-pointers for the season entering the game, but found her rhythm from behind the arc Saturday, making 2-of-4 attempts from three-point range.

For the game, Lake Forest shot 27.1 percent, including shooting 17.4 percent from behind the three-point line. The Foresters were 12-of-18 (66.7 percent) from the free-throw line.

The Foresters trailed by 15 points after the first quarter and trailed by 28 going into halftime.

For their next game Tuesday night, the Foresters will return to Lake Forest and host Lawrence University. Tip off at the Sports and Recreation Center will be at 7:30 p.m.
