2/7/2026 6:52:00 PM

The Lake Forest College men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Ripon College on Saturday for the Red Hawk Invite.

The first of the Foresters' three victories on the day came in the first event on the track. Junior Payton Ross ran the first leg of the 4x200m relay as was followed by senior Mason Wright, sophomore Alex Pavlov, and freshman Brayden Long. Their time of 1:34.67 was the best in the field by more than a second and a new program record by just .06 seconds.

The team's next win was turned in by junior Lettia Hoda in the women's mile, which she completed in 5:16.55. It was her second victory in the event in as many weeks and the career best time was a second-and-a-half better than the runner-up. Hoda also placed eighth in the 800m later in the meet and recorded another career best time of 2:29.18.

A week after breaking his own school record in the 800m, junior Ollie Francis became the fastest Forester in the indoor 400m with a victorious time of 51.13 seconds. He won the 17-runner event by just .16 seconds.

Lake Forest freshman Christopher Yoon placed and put his name in the school record books in three different events. His time of 7.17 seconds in the 60m prelims is a new team record while his 8.59 in the 60m hurdle prelims was just .05 seconds off the mark. Yoon was seventh in both finals and his leap of 6.48m (21' 3.25") in the long jump ranked third in the field and program history.

The Forester men were fifth and the women sixth in the team standings.

Lake Forest's next meet is next weekend's Chicagoland Indoor Championships at North Central College. The women's competition will take place on Friday and the men's on Saturday.
