The Forester men's hockey team was defeated 4-0 on Saturday at St. Norbert College, the fifth-ranked team in the nation.
Two of the Green Knights' goals came on the power play, including the only score of the opening period with 6:19 on the clock. The margin doubled just 42 seconds into the second period but it was still a 2-0 game going into the third.
If the home team's power play goal at 11:54 in the final period did not clinch the victory, the final tally of the game with 1:44 to play certainly did.
St. Norbert put 40 shots on goal to the Foresters; 26 in the contest. The Green Knights also won 42 of the game's 62 faceoffs.
The loss dropped Lake Forest's overall record to 5-16-2 and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 5-10-1. St. Norbert, meanwhile, improved to 15-6-2 overall and 11-3-2 in the league.
The Foresters will close out the regular season against Milwaukee School of Engineering next weekend with Friday's game in Milwaukee and Saturday's in Lake Forest each starting at 7:00 p.m.
