The Lake Forest College track teams made the short trip to Chicago of the Margaret Bradley Invitational at the University of Chicago on Saturday.
The Forester men's team's top performers were sophomore
Finn Gruver and freshman
Brayden Long. Gruver won the long jump with a program record leap of 6.90m (22'-7.75") and Long ran the fastest 60m in program history at 7.03 seconds. Long actually accomplished the feat twice, once in the prelims and once while placing fifth in the final. Gruver turned in the second-fastest 60m in team annals with a 7.13 in the prelims and both runners now rank among the top in school history in the indoor 200m. Long was seventh in the field and second in team history with a time of 23.32 seconds and Gruver's 23.95 ranks him fifth on the program's list.
Junior
Ollie Francis continued his stellar season with a runner-up finish and time of 1:55.93 in the 800m.
Sophomore
Ryan Talty finished fifth in the triple jump (12.44m) and freshman
Christopher Yoon (6.41m) took the same place in the long jump while sophomore
Jalen Williams (6.03m) was eighth. Yoon was also sixth in the 60m hurdles in 8.83 seconds and sophomore
Liam Foo took the same place in the 400m, where his time of 54.39 seconds was good for sixth in the race and third in team history, one spot ahead of freshman
Jace Rackleff (54.39) on both lists.
On the women's side sophomore
Farah Tawfik matched her career-best times in the 60m (8.38) and 200m (28.86) and was eighth in the 60m finals on Saturday.
Senior
Jacquelyn Han finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a season-best time of 10.54 seconds and junior
Lettia Hoda ran a career-best time of 2:28.86 in the 800m to place fifth. Hoda continues to rank fourth in school history in that event and fellow junior
Sophie Graham is now fifth after placing eighth on Saturday in 2:31.70.
The meet was a final tuneup before next weekend's Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at Grinnell College. Friday's events will begin at 1:00 p.m. and Saturday's at 10:30 a.m.
