The Lake Forest College men's tennis team took on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Racine, Wisconsin, Saturday evening and returned home with a 7-0 victory.
The Foresters swept the doubles matches with sophomores
Felipe Moraes and
Joao Espindola edging out the Pointers' top tandem 6-4 after 6-2 triumphs were turned in by junior
Bernardo Aguiar and senior
George Ciuca at #2 and freshmen
Zeke Bisharat and
Tim Pasea at #3.
Bisharat blanked his opponent in both sets at #3 singles and Moraes cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #1. Pasea doubled up his counterpart at #5 singles 6-3, 6-3 and junior
Felipe Vazsonyi rolled 6-3, 6-1 at #6. After dropping the first set 6-4, Espindola took the second by the same score and the third set super tiebreaker 10-8 at #4. Ciuca's win at #2 was also by a narrow margin as he came out on top 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.
Lake Forest is now 4-2 and Stevens Point 4-8 this season.
The Foresters will host Carthage College next Friday night at 7:00 at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
