The Forester women's track and field team competed in the Chicagoland Indoor Championship Meet at North Central College on Friday.
Lake Forest's top perforance came from junior
Lettia Hoda in the 3000m. She completed 15 laps around the track in 10:29.97 to break the program record and win the event by more than 20 seconds. The previous school record of 10:32.80 was set by Yanelia Guajardo in 2020. Hoda's time on Friday was also exactly 12 seconds faster than her team record in the outdoor 3000m, which she set last April.
Also of note for the Foresters on Friday were career-best times by sophomore
Farah Tawfik and freshman
Rylie Almoradie in the 60m. Tawfik now ranks tied-for-second in program history in the event with a time of 8.38 seconds while Almoradie is fourth at 8.67.
Additional career-best performances were turned in by sophomore
Andrea Fernandez in the 400m; sophomore Stella Abernathy, senior
Megan Dodrill, and junior
Utopia Pasika in the 800m, junior
Avery Huffman in the mile, and junior
Jennifer Guerrero in the shot put.
The men's Chicagoland Championships will be contested at North Central on Saturday.
