The Lake Forest College women's volleyball team defeated visiting Moody Bible Institute 25-9, 25-10, 25-21 for Homecoming on Saturday.
Eleven different Foresters had at least one kill in the contest.
Crystyna Yates and
Chloe Kussow led the way with eight apiece.
Lilly Robinson had a match-high 15 assists in the first two sets and
Meghan Winston added seven in the third.
Robinson also led all players in the match with four aces and Lake Forest served up a season-high 15 on the day.
Alisa Kevric and
Sadie Fry were next on the squad with three aces apiece and Kevric led the home team in digs with eight.
Robinson's first two aces came during a 6-0 run to begin the match. The Foresters' lead quickly reached double figures at 14-4 and grew to 15 later in the set, which
Rio Dirksen finished off with a kill.
The Archers won the first point of set two but Lake Forest took the next five and once again pulled away. Back-to-back aces by Robinson extended their lead to double figures and the visitors won consecutive points just twice in the set.
Set three was close throughout and the Foresters led by just two at 21-19 before winning four of six points and the match.
The victory raised Lake Forest's overall record to 7-8 while Moody Bible Institute fell to 3-8.
The Foresters will begin Midwest Conference play at Beloit College Tuesday night at 7:00.
