Lake Forest College men's basketball player Alex Forowycz earned Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honors on Monday.

Forowycz helped lead the Foresters to a 92-87 victory over North Central College on Monday, scoring 22 points. Twenty of those points came in the second half as the team erased a 20-point deficit. He also had his season high on Tuesday, scoring 35 points and shooting 9-for-9 from the free throw line in a 97-88 win over the hosts of the Loras Holiday Classic. In addition, he made six of seven attempts from beyond the arc, which tied the second-highest three-point field goal percentage in program history. On Saturday the Foresters defeated Knox College 101-67, with another outstanding performance from Forowycz, who was 5-for-6 from the field. He shot 24-for-35 overall, 12-for-19 from three-point range, and 12-for-13 from the line while adding eight rebounds, eight assists, four steals, and a pair of blocks in the three games combined.

Forowycz moved up the ranks to become the league's leading scorer this season with 19.5 points per game. He is also shooting a conference-best 97.1 percent from the free throw line and is third in the MWC in field goal percentage at 53.1 percent.
