The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 6-1 Friday night at Adrian College, the sixth-ranked team in the nation.
The Foresters' lone goal came from sophomore forward
Max Abramson at the 5:10 mark of the second period. Freshman forward
Connor Miller skated into the Adrian zone and found sophomore forward
Teddy Puccini, who spun and fired a shot toward the goal from the left circle. It was saved but Abramson was there to put in the rebound and make the score 3-1.
It was the first career goal for Abramson and first career points for Puccini and Miller.
The home team got off to a fast start in the game, scoring three times and out-shooting the Foresters 22-6 in the opening period. The Bulldogs also converted power play opportunities at 14:52 in the second period and at 8:59 in the third before closing out the scoring with 2:29 remaining in the contest.
Adrian finished the night with a 42-24 advantage in shots and with 40 faceoff wins to Lake Forest's 22.
Forester freshman goaltender Luke Sczysczka made a season-high 36 saves on the night.
Lake Forest fell to 4-11-1 overall and 4-5-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while the Bulldogs improved to 11-5-0 overall and 7-2-0 in the league.
The teams will face off again Saturday afternoon at 3:00 (ET).
