The Lake Forest College men's golf team placed fifth at The Grand Intercollegiate, a 20-team event at Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, on Sunday and Monday.
The Foresters' score of 292 in the opening round was their lowest of the year for less than 24 hours after finishing round two at 287. Their 579 for the tournament was the third-best two-day total in team history and just seven shots behind first-place University of Dubuque.
Freshman
Jack Lee birdied four of the final nine holes he played on Monday and became the first Forester this season to post a round in the 60s. Just eight rounds in program history have been better than his 2-under 69 and his two-day total of 143 (+1) tied for 10th in the 118-player field and ranks tied-for-9th in school history.
One of the program's eight scores ahead of Lee came from junior
Tyler Wengronowitz, who tied for eighth at the tournament and sixth in team history with an even-par 142. His 1-under 70 on Sunday was the best of his 10 rounds this season and he was just one stroke off that pace on Monday. Both rounds featured four birdies.
Sophomore
Tyler Poker and junior
Tyler Schick each carded an eagle during the opening round but had a slightly better overall score on Monday. Poker holed his third shot on the 549-yar, par-5 sixth hole and tied for 15th in the tournament with rounds of 73 and 72. Schick's eagle came on the 506-yard, par-5 second hole and he tied for 30th after scores of 75 and 74. Sophomore
Nate Choi, who competed as an individual at the event, was at even-par after Sunday and matched Schick with a final score of 149.
Lake Forest will close out the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule at the three-day Twin Cities Classic, which begins on Saturday.
