Gruver’s Goal Lifts Foresters to 8–0, Tying Third-Longest Winning Streak in Program History

The Lake Forest men's soccer team continued its impressive run with a 1–0 victory over Carroll University on Tuesday afternoon at Mohr Field, improving to 8–0 on the season. With the win, the Foresters have matched the third-longest winning streak in program history.

The breakthrough came in the 25th minute when sophomore Finn Gruver rose to the occasion, finishing a setup from junior Nathan Kostovetsky and sophomore Sam Satisky. Gruver's decisive strike not only gave the Foresters the edge but also provided the spark that carried them through the remainder of the match.

Lake Forest controlled the tempo on both sides of the ball, outshooting Carroll 12–7 overall and holding a 5–3 advantage in shots on goal. The Foresters also earned a 5–4 edge in corner kicks, keeping pressure on the Pioneers throughout.

In net, freshman Conor Leuschke and sophomore Kyle Demmon split time and combined for three saves to secure the shutout.

With Gruver's heroics and another strong team performance, Lake Forest remains unbeaten. The Foresters begin conference play on Saturday, September 27, when they host Knox College at Farwell Field. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
