The Lake Forest College women's soccer team continued its strong start to the 2025 season with a decisive 6-1 victory at Webster University on Saturday.
The Foresters set the tone early with two goals in quick succession. Senior Anna Hoffman opened the scoring in the 19th minute off an assist from classmate Theresa Presberg, and less than a minute later, fellow senior Anna Gracia doubled the lead on a setup from Hoffman.
Webster pulled one back in the 56th minute, but the Foresters responded with four unanswered goals to put the game out of reach. Freshman Maddie Vasquez restored the two-goal cushion with a strike in the 62nd minute, followed by a penalty-kick conversion from senior Izzy DeStefano just five minutes later. Junior Anna Diebold added her first of the season in the 69th minute before junior Gianna Logue capped the scoring with her collegiate career goal in the 79th.
Lake Forest dominated statistically, finishing with a 35-10 advantage in shots. Sixteen of those attempts were on target and the Foresters earned 10 corner kicks compared to three for Webster. Senior goalkeeper Joanna Aslanides made three saves in the contest.
With the win, Lake Forest improved to 2-0-0 overall while Webster dropped to 0-1-0. The Foresters will return to action on Wednesday when they take on Aurora University in their home opener on Mohr Field.
