The Lake Forest College men's golf team traveled to Decatur, Illinois, and finished seventh out of 20 teams at Millikin University's Take Back the Night Challenge.
The Foresters began the tournament by posting 2-over score of 290, the seventh-lowest total in team history, at Red Tail Run on Friday. They were less successful on Saturday at South Side Country Club, where they were 27 shots over par with a round of 307.
Sophomore Tyler Wengropnowitz and senior
Luke Duffer turned in the team's best performance of the weekend on day one, finishing at 2-under 70. Wengronowitz added a 3-over 73 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 13th place in the 116-player field. His 36-hole total of 143 matched the seventh-best score in program history.

Chris Petri were just one stroke behind Shamberg and Schick.
Illinois Wesleyan University, the fifth-ranked team in the nation, won the tournament with a score of 559, five shots better than runner-up and 25th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Lake Forest's 597 matched the ninth-best two-round total in team history and was just two shots behind sixth-place North Central College and one ahead of Millikin and Wheaton College, who tied for eighth.
The tournament was the last of the regular season for the Foresters, who will travel to Timber Gate Golf Club in Edinburg, Indiana, for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships next Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
