The Forester men's tennis team started Saturday with a 7-0 victory over Cornell College on Lake Forest's outdoor courts before moving indoors to the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff for its second match of the day, a 6-1 loss to Grinnell College.
The morning match began with the home team winning the doubles point with victories at the top two spots in the lineup. Senior

Felipe Moraes edged out the Rams' top tandem 6-4 while junior
George Ciuca and sophomore
Bernardo Aguiar doubled up their opponents 6-3 at #2.
Lake Forest swept the singles competition. Ciuca posted a 7-5, 6-1 victory atop the lineup and Aguiar took both sets 6-3 at #2. Moraes and Tulchinskiy each dropped just three games in a 6-1, 6-2 win at #3 and 6-3, 6-0 triumph at #4, respectively. Sophomore
Felipe Vazsonyi rolled 7-1, 6-2 at #5 and senior
Kyle Lassen closed out the contest with a 6-1, 7-5 triumph at #6.
The Foresters won two matches and came close in two others against Grinnell. Ciuca and Aguiar came out on top 7-6 (7-2) at #2 doubles but Pioneer victories at the other two spots gave them the double point. Moraes earned Lake Forest's only point of the match with a 7-6 (10-8), 6-4 win at #3 singles.
Tulchinskiy took the first set at #4 and Aguiar did the same at #2 but both were defeated in a third set super tiebreaker.
The Foresters are now 7-9 overall and 3-1 in Midwest Conference play. Cornell fell to 14-8 overall and 2-2 in the league while Grinnell improved to 9-10 overall and 4-0 in the MWC.
Lake Forest will close out the regular season next Saturday with matches at Illinois College (9:00 a.m.) and Monmouth College (3:00 p.m.).
