Thanks in part to a big finish, Forester men's golf finished first out of 15 teams at Wisconsin Lutheran College's Morningstar Masters on Saturday.
Lake Forest posted a final score of 293 to edge out runner-up Wisconsin Lutheran by five strokes and match the fifth-lowest round in program history.

Luke Duffer and
Chris Petri shared low-score honors on the team at 1-over 73. They combined for 13 birdies and tied for fifth place ot of 80 players in the field. Sophomore
Tyler Wengronowitz was just a shot behind them and tied-for-eighth overall while freshman
Nate Choi and six players from other teams were 34th with a score of 78.
The event's shotgun start had the players beginning the round on different holes. Schick finished his day with a birdie on 17 and par on 18 while Wengronowitz, who also started on one, parred 17 and carded an eagle on the 516-yard, par-5 18th hole. Duffer followed up a bogey with a birdie on his final two holes while Petri went birdie-birdie-par to finish his day.
While the Foresters' top five players were winning the tournament, the next five placed fifth as a team with a 304. Junior
Ben Shamberg led the group with a 2-over 74, which put him in a tie for eighth overall. Sophomore
Alexander Rohlf tied for 20th with a 74 while freshman
Brady Green and
Tyler Poker were just a shot behind him and 30th in the field. Junior
Evan Dybas tied for 47th with an 80.
Lake Forest will host the Forester Spring Invite on the Prairie Course at Countryside Golf Club in nearby Mundelein next weekend. Friday's round with begin at 11:00 a.m. and Saturday's an hour earlier.
