Six Foresters Named Academic All-District® by CSC

College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2024-25 Academic All-District® Teams for swimming and diving on Tuesday and six Foresters were listed.

To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must be the equivalent of starters or important reserves and have either competed in at least five contests or placed among the top eight at the conference championship meet. They must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale at their current institution and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Lake Forest's honorees were junior Amelie Andres; sophomores Clayton Berg and Tendo Ndawula; and seniors Caprice KalvelageMichelle Paddon-Jones, and Sylvie Paddon-Jones.

Andres won the 1650-freestyle, placed fifth in the 500-freestyle and 100-breaststroke, and contributed to a third-place finish in the 200-medley relay at the Midwest Conference Championships in February. She was named MWC Newcomer of the Year in 2023 after claiming a pair of individual titles and adding another on a relay at the conference meet. Andres is a biology major and a two-time Academic All-MWC honoree and also earned CSC Academic All-District® honors a year ago.

Berg finished third in the 100-butterfly at the MWC Championships with a time that ranks him third in program history. He was also fourth in the league in the 200-butterfly and sixth in the 200-IM. The physics major was an Academic All-MWC honoree last year.

Kalvelage was seventh in the 200-backstroke and 10th in the 200-freestyle and 200-IM at this year's MWC Championships. She won a league title in the 800-freestyle relay as a freshman and has seven career top-eight finishes at the conference meet. The finance major is now a two-time Academic All-District® selection and three-time Academic All-MWC honoree and has earned the MWC Elite 20 Award the last three seasons for possessing the highest cumulative grade point average of any women's swimmer or diver at the MWC Championships.

Michelle Paddon-Jones finished two places behind Kalvelage in the 200-IM and among the top five in both butterfly events at the league championships in February. She now has eight top-eight finishes and four more in the top 16 at the conference meet during her four seasons. A double major in sociology and anthropology and international relations, she earned Academic All-MWC accolades following each of her first three years at the College.

Ndawula placed 15th in the 200-breaststroke and also competed in the 50-freestyle and 100-breaststroke at the MWC Championship Meet. The economics and international relations double major was his team's Most Improved Performer and earned Academic All-MWC honors as a freshman.

Sylvie Paddon-Jones was third in the 200-IM, eighth in the 400-IM, and 10th in the 100-freestyle as an individual and contributed to three to-three relays at the 2024 MWC Championship Meet. She placed among the top eight in the conference 11 times during her career and was the team's Most Improved Performer as a freshman. Double majoring in biology and history, she is a three-time Academic All-MWC selection. 

Andres, Kalvelage, and both Paddon-Jones sisters are also members of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.
