The Forester men's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by Carthage College in Racine, Wisconsin, Saturday evening.
The Firebirds began the match with a sweep in doubles, although they needed a tiebreaker to top Lake Forest's #2 team of freshman
Felipe Moraes and senior
Kyle Lassen.
Two of the singles matches were decided by a third set super tiebreaker. After dropping the first set 6-1 at #3, Moraes took the second 7-5 but fell 10-1 in the super tiebreaker. The other went the Foresters' way as junior
George Ciuca finished off the night with a 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, (10-7) triumph over Carthage's top player.
Lake Forest is now 3-7 and Carthage 10-5 on the season.
The Foresters will host Principia College at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff next Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
