After its first two Spring Break matches were canceled due to rain, the Lake Forest College men's tennis team defeated the University of Mount Union 7-0 on Tuesday.
The Foresters earned the doubles point with victories at the bottom two spots in the lineup. Junior
George Ciuca and sophomore
Bernardo Aguiar did not drop a game to their counterparts at #2 and sophomore
Daniel Fotiev combined with senior
Alec Nissen on a 6-2 triumph at #3.
Ciuca also edged out the Purple Raiders' top singles player 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 and Aguiar won 6-1, 6-3 at #2. Freshman
Felipe Moraes took both sets 6-0 at #3 and 6-0, 6-1 victories were turned in by senior
Daniel Tulchinskiy at #4 and senior
Kyle Lassen at #5. Fotiev finished off his second triumph of the day, winning the first set 6-2 and the second 6-1 at #6.
Lake Forest is now 2-6 and Mount Union 1-9 this year.
The Foresters will continue play in Hilton Head, South Carolina, Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m. against Gettysburg College.
