The Lake Forest College women's tennis team defeated visiting Loras College 7-0 at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff on Saturday. It was the 100th victory in men's and women's tennis combined for fifth-year head coach
Scot Reinhart.
The Foresters earned the doubles point with victories at the top two spots in the lineup. Fifth-year
Margaret Bugnacki and senior
Sara Lopez defeated the Duhawks' #2 team 6-1 while sophomore
Sofia Strupovets and freshman
Lilli Dockal tripled up their opponents 6-2 at #1.
The home team also came out on top at every position in singles, beginning with Bugnacki's 6-4, 6-0 win at #3 and a 6-0, 6-2 victory for Dockal at #2. Strupovets defeated the best singles player for Loras 6-2, 6-1 and Lopez rolled 6-1, 6-3 at #4. The last two matches on the court also went to the home team with sophomore
Kate Feist prevailing 6-0, 6-2 at #5 and junior
Olivia Pandazi 6-1, 6-3 at #6.
The Foresters improved to 10-2 this season while Loras fell to 6-10.
Lake Forest will play its next three matches in HIlton Head, South Carolina, during Spring Break. The Foresters will begin the trip against Randolph College on MOnday, March 10, at 9:00 a.m. (ET).
