Box Score The Lake Forest women's basketball team made a concerted effort to control the backboard Tuesday night against Mount Mary University and used their dominance on the boards to fuel a 66-53 win. Â

The Foresters (4-16, 2-9 MWC) outrebounded Mount Mary 57-40 on the game; the +17 rebound differential is the best mark of any game this season for Lake Forest. Lake Forest took advantage of the extra chances, as the Foresters won the battle for second-chance points 14-2.

Guard
Rebecca Christodoulou led the way both in scoring and rebounding for Lake Forest. The Foresters' leading scorer could not be stopped with 28 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, marking her fifth double-double of the season. The senior also displayed reliable decision-making with four assists and no turnovers.

Careah Baitlon added 11 points, and the Foresters' frontcourt was buoyed by the solid play of
Makayla Campbell and
Peyton Noles, as the duo combined for 18 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and five steals.

Lake Forest snapped a five-game road losing streak with the win and took control of the game in the fourth quarter. The Foresters entered the final quarter with a slim two-point lead but blew the game open with a commanding run to extend the lead out of reach.

The Foresters ripped off a 17-5 run across six minutes to start the fourth quarter to push the Lake Forest lead to 64-50 on a Baitlon three-pointer. In all, Lake Forest allowed just eight points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

The Foresters will resume their Midwest Conference slate in their next game Saturday, as Lake Forest goes on the road again to Grinnell College at 1 p.m.
