The Lake Forest College track team competed at the University of Chicago's Margaret Bradley Invitational on Saturday.
The top placing for the Forester women was turned in by junior
AJ Jones, who placed sixth in the 60m in 8.15 seconds. Her time of 8.07 in the prelims, which included 23 competitors, earned her a spot in the final. Jones was also 11th out of 35 runners in the 200m in 27.55 seconds.
Fellow junior
Jacquelyn Han was also sixth in the women's 60m hurdles, which she completed in 10.68 seconds, and sophomore
Payton Ross took the same place in the men's race in 8.92 seconds.
Freshman
Zahra Tait placed seventh in the women's long jump with a leap of 15'4.75" and sophomore
Lettia Hoda was 13th out of 40 runners in the mile in 5:27.63.
On the men's side, senior
Bart Brophy was also 13th in the mile with a time of 4:32.93.
Sophomore
Shuntaro Nakamura narrowly missed out on a spot in the 60m final. He ranked eighth out of 55 competitors in the prelims at 7.32 seconds.
Senior
Matthew Lungu turned in a pair of solid performances, finishing 18th out of 49 runners in the 200m (24.11 seconds) and 14th out of 33 in the 400m (54.20).
Lake Forest also had a pair of jumpers place at the meet. Freshman
Ryan Talty was fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 41'6" and classmate
Jalen Williams was fifth in the long jump with a leap of 19'4.75".
Lake Forest will travel to Monmouth College for the 2025 Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet next Friday and Saturday.
