The Forester women's basketball team began 2025-26 with an 84-35 loss to Webster University at the Webster Tip-Off Classic Friday night.

With five points, junior guard Anika Kinnear shared the team's scoring lead with sophomore guards Emma Hart and Ella Frank. Senior guard Jamie Springstead paced the visitors in rebounds with eight.

Lake Forest actually out-rebounded the Gorlocks 45-42 but shot just 27 percent from the field and committed 34 turnovers.

Webster scored the game's first seven points and led 20-4 by the end of the first quarter. The margin grew to 35 points by halftime and 46 after three quarters.

The Foresters will be back in action at Webster on Saturday when they take on Blackburn College at 1:00 p.m.
