The Lake Forest women's soccer team capped off a perfect regular season with a dominant 5–0 victory over Monmouth College on Saturday morning. The Foresters improved to 18–0 overall and 8–0 in Midwest Conference play, securing the top seed heading into next week's conference tournament.
Senior Izzy DeStefano opened the scoring in the 7th minute after finishing a feed from sophomore Annabelle Schroeder. Senior Anna Gracia extended the lead in the 20th minute with help from junior Lola Halsband, who added a goal of her own less than a minute later to make it 3–0.
Gracia struck again in the 60th minute, finishing another setup from Schroeder, before senior Anna Hoffman capped the scoring in the 70th minute off a pass from senior Theresa Presberg.
The Foresters outshot the Scots 45–3 and earned 13 corner kicks while holding Monmouth without a single shot on goal until late in the match. Senior goalkeeper Joanna Aslanides recorded her seventh shutout of the season, stopping both shots she faced.
Lake Forest will return to Mohr Field on Friday, November 7, at 11 a.m. to open the Midwest Conference Tournament as they look to capture another conference championship.
