Foresters Punch Their Ticket to the Championship with 1-0 Win Over Grinnell

Lake Forest took care of business Friday morning on Mohr Field, grinding out a 1–0 semifinal victory over Grinnell to secure their spot in tomorrow's Midwest Conference Championship. The win pushes the Foresters to 19–0–0 on the season and keeps their unbeaten run intact as they chase another league title.

The breakthrough came in the 11th minute off a dangerous look created by Senior Anna Hoffman, who fired a shot that forced a rebound into the box. Senior forward Anna Gracia was first to it, burying the loose ball for her 16th goal of the season to put the Foresters in front.

From there, Lake Forest controlled the tempo, outshooting Grinnell 16–2 and never allowing the Pioneers a shot on goal. The back line of Junior Lola Halsband, Junior Gianna Logue, Freshman Veronica Presberg, and Senior Theresa Presberg stayed sharp all afternoon, erasing counters and closing every gap before Grinnell could capitalize.

In goal, Senior Joanna Aslanides delivered another poised 90 minutes, earning a shutout without facing a shot on frame—her eighth of the season.

The midfield group of Freshman Maddie Vasquez, Senior Caitlin Mulcahy, Senior Izzy DeStefano, Sophomore Annabelle Schroeder, and Senior Anna Hoffman dictated possession and kept the Foresters on the front foot throughout the match.

With the win, the Foresters advance to the MWC Championship tomorrow at 1:00 PM on Mohr Field, where they'll look to cap off their undefeated season and lift the trophy once again in front of a home crowd.
