The Lake Forest College women's soccer team kept their perfect season alive with a 4–2 win over Illinois College on Saturday afternoon at Farwell Field. The Foresters move to 12–0 overall and 2–0 in conference play with the victory.
The Foresters jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Senior Izzy DeStefano opened the scoring midway through the first half off a pass from Freshman Maddie Vasquez. Just minutes later, Senior Anna Hoffman extended the lead with a goal assisted by Sophomore Maggie Balas, and Vasquez added one of her own shortly after to make it 3–0 at halftime.
Illinois College scored twice early in the second half to close the gap, but the Foresters responded late. Senior Caitlin Mulcahy netted her first goal of the season in the 83rd minute off a feed from Hoffman to secure the 4–2 win.
DeStefano, Vasquez, Hoffman, and Mulcahy all recorded a goal and an assist in the victory. Senior Joanna Aslanidesmade three saves in net.
The Foresters held a 17–8 advantage in shots, including nine on goal, and finished with nine corner kicks compared to just one for Illinois College.
Lake Forest returns to action on October 8 when they travel to take on Lawrence University, followed by matchups with Beloit (Oct. 11) and Ripon (Oct. 14).
